Education & training

The research unit contributes to the transmission of knowledge and skills acquired through research by its involvement in various courses, in France or abroad, or by organizing professional training. It also hosts and supervises PhD students and trainees at the different sites where its staff operates.

  • PhD training

    Researchers from the unit are involved in the supervision of 15 to 20 PhD students each year. These students are hosted at the CIRAD site in Montpellier or in partner universities. The research unit is also a home team for two graduate schools: Structures Information Systems (University of Montpellier), and “Energie Environnement’ (University of Perpignan – Via Domitia).

  • Internships

    Each year, the research unit hosts from 25 to 30 trainees at the different sites where its staff operates. These internships related to wood or biomass are available for all levels of study and can last from several weeks up to 6 months.

  • Education

    The research unit provides courses for undergraduate and graduate students in the core areas of its expertise. These courses amount to nearly 300 hours per year in France and 100 hours in Southern Countries.

  • Professionnal training (French only)

    BioWooEB offers training in all domains related to its fields of expertise and knowledge. Training courses can be organized in Montpellier or on site, either in tropical areas or in metropolitan France.
