Physical and mechanical characterization
The research unit carries out physical and mechanical characterization tests on wood, manufactured wood products, natural rubber, and other lignified plants (coconut, bamboo, etc.). The tests, which results are stored in our databases, are carried out according to standards, adapted procedures and specific expertise. -
Wood durability and protection systems
The unit has laboratories and conditioned rooms, meeting the requirements of current standards, for carrying out durability tests and evaluating the efficacy of various wood and wood-based material protection systems. -
Extractions and biochemical analyses
The unit carries out extractions and chemical analyses to characterize the biochemistry of rubber, the biochemistry of wood, plant biomasses and extractables. The aim is to characterize the constituent molecules of natural rubber, macromolecules and extractables present in plant biomasses. -
From logs and sawn timbers, wood samples are produced by the sawing and machining workshop to feed our wood laboratories (anatomy, physics, mechanics, natural durability, chemistry…). The workshop has all necessary woodworking machines to produce all types of wood products and samples from both tropical and temperate species.
