François Hollande attends the creation of the SALSA platform

For his last trip overseas as French President, François Hollande went to Malaysia! Accompanied by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, he sponsored the launch by Michel Eddi (CEO at CIRAD) and the vice president of the Putra Malaysia University (UPM) of the Malaysian side of a new platform for cooperation between CIRAD and UPM.

The co-founding partners of this cooperation platform are the University of Montpellier and the ASAIHL (Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning1). The subject of the platform is "Sustainable Agricultural Landscapes in Southeast Asia" (SALSA) and concerns the production systems of palm, wood, rubber and by extension any product made of lignocellulosic biomass.

BioWooEB Research Unit is proud to have participated in this collective success of CIRAD.
