Cooperation with the Brazilian Forest Service (SFB)

Cooperation with the SFB (Serviço Florestal Brasileiro, the Brazilian Forestry Service) began in 2004 with the arrival of a CIRAD researcher. The aim of this cooperation is to contribute to the development of research, training and expertise activities focusing on the optimization of energy processes applied to biomass and the analysis of conditions and their optimal implementation in tropical environments. In 2008, the cooperation project was renewed to focus on the "Bio-refinery" concept. Since 2011, CIRAD has extended this cooperation to environmental impact studies (LCA). The fruits of this cooperation are numerous publications in international journals, coordination of national and international projects, supervision of Master's and PhD students and teaching in several Brazilian universities.SFB website (in Portuguese)
